CALDON LEFM Ultrasonic CheckPlus systems have been approved by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and international regulatory authorities for Measurement Uncertainty Recapture (MUR) uprates up to 1.7%, based on the decreased uncertainty in flow measurement provided by the multi-path chordal transittime technology. In addition to MUR applications, LEFM systems may be used to calibrate or apply a correction factor to your plant’s current flow meter to recover MWs lost due to existing measurement methods inaccuracies.
To harmonize with the release of the Sensia’s 3rd generation of transmitter electronics (2015), a new generation of LEFM CheckPlus Flowmeter Systems for Nuclear Power Plant Feedwater MUR applications was released in 2018. These new systems, the M3P and C3P, introduce a revamped design that improves system function and reliability via eliminating reliance on a Windows-based CPU. For existing CALDON LEFM Ultrasonic customers, the M3P allows for direct electronics platform upgrades from the 2000FC and 2010M/AP1000 systems while the C3P provides a direct replacement for 2010C applications.
A monolithic ultrasonic feedwater system which includes transmitter, PLC, and Diagnostic CPU with user Human- Machine Interface (HMI) to provide plane, loop, and system level flow calculations and integration, communicated via an ethernet or serial interface to the plant.
Distributed LEFM feedwater system architecture that locates transmitters near the meter providing plane level calculations, with loop and system level flow integration, plant communication interface, and system HMI provided in separate, redundant central processing units.
A subcomponent of the C3P LEFM system, the G3 Wall Mount (WM) transmitter may be configured to perform plane level or full meter level flow calculations and may be used as a standalone solution in non-MUR applications that do not require system integration.
