CALDON LEFM Ultrasonic Aftermarket Services

Overview

CALDON Ultrasonics has a team of Field Service and Measurement Engineers that are solely dedicated to the LEFM’s nuclear power plant product line and application to support our installation base globally. No one understands the benefits and impacts of the LEFM to your business better than us, and we are committed to providing efficient, effective support to our product accordingly.

LEFM Monitoring & Maintenance Program

The purpose of the Monitoring and Maintenance (M&M) Program for the LEFM system is to continually evaluate its performance and provide key indicator trends using your plant-provided data. Highlights of the program include:

  • Monthly LEFM data reviews and analysis report by Sensia’s measurement engineers to confirm your nuclear plant is operating within the site-specific Uncertainty Analysis
  • Long term trend evaluation of key LEFM performance parameters
  • Recommendations on preventative maintenance activities; providing a proactive approach to mitigate alarm potential during the fuel cycle
  • Support in developing refueling outage Work Order procedures to support recommended maintenance activities
  • LEFM system training provided once per fuel cycle
  • LEFM maintenance and/or diagnostics service visit by a Sensia Field Service engineer once per fuel cycle
  • Discounts on future hardware and software upgrades

Field Service & Support

Sensia’s Nuclear Field Service Engineering team is available for onsite and remote support for your LEFM product, routinely performing plant refueling outage maintenance activities and conducting online repairs. Typical field support includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Thorough LEFM system inspections
  • Meter body and transducer component checks and replacements, including transducer window inspections and service
  • Transducer cable checks and signal oscilloscope measurements
  • System diagnostics, data capture, and health check
  • Software/configuration updates and input scaling
  • Hardware component replacement and configuration
  • Remote engineering support

Support contracts

Long-term support contracts for an individual plant or entire fleet are also available, providing remote engineering support and priority site deployment in your time of need for troubleshooting and diagnostic services, facilitating a prompt, efficient response. Our support contracts can be structured to meet any utility’s individual needs and include such subjects as training, LEFM engineering consultation, and LEFM system data reviews.

  • Power ascension support and post-outage LEFM system review
  • Periodic or Post-Maintenance performance alarm threshold review and updates as applicable (recommended following a transducer replacement)
