Sensia in the news: how to reduce risk across the lifecycle of floating production assets

November 22, 2021 | Written by: Sensia

A recent joint article by Sensia and Rockwell Automation shares important insight on how best to use digital transformation to mitigate risks and increase performance of offshore rigs.

Floating production storage and offload vessels (FPSOs) are among the largest investment trade-offs an oil and gas producer will make. On the one hand, they offer huge benefits over onshore counterparts, such as hugely increased production and storage flexibility – on the other hand they can come with a cost in terms of equipment, operations, and maintenance. More successful operators are achieving better than 99% uptime – but how can companies operating at these very high levels of productivity adopt digital technologies to maintain and optimize their existing operations?

Published in the latest issue of Offshore Engineer magazine, the article was co-written by Roger Burnison, Engineering and Consultancy Services Manager, Sensia and Rockwell’s Greg Trostel, Global Business Development Manager.
